Daniel was an Untouchable destined to be trained as a companion to a high ranking Cubus. A red-eyed Incubus screwed all that up at a dinner party, and Daniel is now a confused Changeling with a libido far exceeding anything he could ever have dreamed off. Seldon failed in keeping the Untouchable under his care safe, and he accidentally dosed the too young human. His worst fears came to pass when Daniel turned out to be a Changeling, and Seldon now has to face the Cubi justice for turning someone so young. Luckily, Seldon has a powerful friend at his side—one who also has an eye for the young beauty.

This sequel to “Untouchable Beauty” picks up just moments after the first book ends, with Daniel accidentally dosed by his master Seldon and discovered to be a changeling, a human that has the genetic make-up to be converted to a incubus. It's a huge change for the young man, who was just coming to terms with being a slave to the cubi, albeit a cherished one. He may no longer be a slave, but the immensity of the change, and the ramifications on Seldon due to the accidental dosing, prove quite daunting.

“Claimed Beauty” continues the highly erotic yet engaging story line of the first book in the series. All of the characters, especially Daniel, mature and become more three dimensional in this volume. The Lord of Seldon's house, Caledon, plays a bigger role in this story, and through his interaction with Daniel we learn more about the world of the cubi, just as Daniel does. It's a very natural way to introduce a fantasy world that's not going to be familiar to most readers, without boring you with a data dump.

Daniel becomes a much more likable character by the end of this book. It seems that he's not exactly the spoiled selfish brat he appeared at the beginning of the first book. Instead it seems that he was more of a blank slate, with no usable life skills and unprepared to cope with the real world. Fortunately, he's not an idiot and is smart enough to learn and ask questions.

One aspect of Daniel that's proving interesting is his understanding of the power of his beauty. He is very conscious of his looks, to the point where most people would probably describe him as a narcissist. Over the course of this book Daniel seems to gain a growing awareness of how his appearance affects those around him. The interesting thing is that, while he realizes he can use and adjust his looks to get what he wants, he can also bring others pleasure, making him much less selfish that one might imagine he could be.

The plot provides scope for a lot of sex scenes, and the book definitely delivers more than its fair share of hot sex. While almost all the scenes are sizzling, many of them carry some deeper meaning as the bond between Daniel, Seldon and even Caledon grows. The combination of a strong story within a highly erotic setting is something that often doesn't work, but so far this series is definitely working for me.

Claimed Beauty The Cubi Volume 2 Meraki P Lyhne Laura McNellis Jay Aheer Books Reviews

I was thinking this Cubi series would be one of those menages, where three men fall in love and la di da they get their happily ever after. Usually, there are either two dominants and one subservient, or two subies to one domie, etc etc... Not the case for Cubi. When I first saw that title, I thought, could be it succubus? Well, indeed, it is, so that means, no, this is most likely not going to be a romantic series. I was thinking of the succubus feeding on the energies released from sex so there could be no romance in it. Well, I guess I was right? 'Cause, seriously, the first book, Untouchable Beauty was more about getting the readers a birds' eye view on the life and leisure of the Cubi race who hid right under the noses of the blind humans. Figuratively speaking, that is. Well maybe not, but that's a whole different subject.

Let's begin this review with the first book. As I mentioned, no this is definitely not romance, from the time we meet the bratty Daniel to the time I was horrified to read about his abduction and eventual slavery to the Cubi (Incubi and Succubi) to be fed upon. Now, as an untouchable because of his youth, Daniel turned out to be more of a problem for Seldon than he originally thought he could handle. For one thing, Daniel was just too beautiful and even the strongest could forget the rules.

And eventually, someone did forget and in the process, what was once untouchable, became a changeling. Seldon is punished for failing to keep Daniel untouched and so Caledon, takes over the job of...well, dosing Daniel. And by dosing, I'm not saying drugs. What I'm saying is all about sex and...oh boy, fanning self here. Oh boy...

Now, let's stop talking about sex for a minute and get on with the review, okay? Why? Well, because it's your job to pick up the book, and my job to keep this review spoiler proof. Which means, I am not about to related everything that went on in and out of the sheets!

In terms of world building, this is exemplary. The Cubi series is one of those epic fantasy stories I love to read. There are a lot of characters involved, and the plot development goes in increments rather than one whole wham-bam-dump-all-the-information-on-the-poor-reader kind of thing. As we read, we learn not just about who the Cubi are, but who Daniel is, and of course, Seldon. Many people who've read this mentioned they didn't like Daniel at first because he was kind of shallow and a bit of a brat, but then, I'm thinking, he's the perfect nineteen year old character I've read for what nineteen-year-old acts like someone who has the mental age of a sixty year old?

As for the plot itself, this is scary. True, this is fantasy, and with all the sex involved (okay, so I couldn't help mentioning the word again, sue me!), this would kind of feed the fantasy seekers out there. But this is also kind of disturbing for it gives you an alternate reality of all those kids out there who've been lured in by strangers in the guise of parties, jobs, etc. and end up getting kidnapped. So if you don't like that sort of thing because it can trigger bad stuff in your mind, I'd warn you not to pick this up. Otherwise, this was fantastically written.

No, I did not get to finish this in one sitting. The Cubi is not a light read, neither is this a short one. In fact, I would say that this had to be taken slow, so as not to miss the minutest of details. Also, to savor the...yes, you got it!

This is one hell of an erotic read so brace yourselves and pick this series up.
I've read this book 5 times already and I cannot wait for the next book to come out!! I Love the world they live in and the way they make everyone work their way up there pyramid!! I still love Daniel, Seldon and Caledon!!! All the sexy time they had together kept me coming back for more!!!
I loved this second book in The Cubi series! Not only is this book hot as hell but the entire concept is extremely interesting. I devoured this book and now on to the next one!
